01

Reading a place through evidence.

Visit Sharjah places Mleiha in the Central Region and describes its archaeological and geological setting. The UAE Ministry of Culture also records Mleiha as an archaeological settlement. Those official descriptions support a learning perspective built around evidence: what can a place, an object or an excavation record tell us, and what remains an interpretation?

For a younger learner, begin with a single object or image and ask for a description before an explanation. For an older student, compare an exhibition account with another published source and record where they agree or differ. These are proposed learning tasks, not claims that a particular workshop is currently operating.

02

Keep the school and the heritage visit distinct.

The current directory has a school record whose authority-listed location is Mleiha. That record does not represent all education in the locality, and a shared regional school website does not establish the location of this particular campus. The observatory keeps the record searchable while making the absence of a confirmed map reference visible.

A heritage visit is a separate arrangement from school admission. Confirm venue access, age suitability, language and any guide or school-group requirements with the operator. Plan a question before the visit and a short review afterwards; do not assume that travelling through a landscape permits entry to protected archaeological areas.

Start with an institution.
